RODNEY AJAYI

On the 26th July 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of midfielder Rodney Ajayi. Ajayi started off his career at Stockport County before moving to Stockport Sports. Ajayi has also spent time at Avro, Atherton Labernum Rovers and West Didsbury and Chorlton. On the 30th November 2021, it was announced that after 7 appearances, Rodney Ayaji had left the Silkmen. After leaving Macclesfield FC, Rodney Ajayi featured for Cheshire and Manchester Sunday League side Manchester Athletic First. In July 2023, Rodney Ajayi signed for Wythenshawe Town. In May 2024, Rodney Ajayi was named Wythenshawe Town Player Of The Year as they were promoted from the North West Counties. In June 2025, Rodney Ajayi signed for Northern Premier League West Division side Atherton Collieries.

LEON ARNASALAM

On the 7th July 2021, Macclesfield FC completed the signing on diminutive winger Leon Arnasalam. Arnsalam started his youth football at Preston North End and before signing for the Silkmen, went on to appear for Marine, AFC Liverpool, Lower Breck, Burscough and Bolton Wanderers. The attacking winger also spent time at Robbie Fowler’s Academy before making the move to Macclesfield FC. On the 4th February 2022, Arnasalam signed a dual-registration deal with Mossley. After 1 appearance for Mossley, on the 24th March 2022, it was announced that Arnasalam had joined Prescot Cables on a dual registration deal. On the 4th April 2022, it was announced that Leon Arnasalam had been released by Macclesfield FC. Arnasalam made 2 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 1 goal. Arnasalam’s goal was the first ever goal for Macclesfield FC. On the 31st July 2022, it was announced that Leon Arnasalam had signed for Bury AFC. In October 2022, Leon Arnasalam signed for Cheshire Football League side Garswood United. On the 8th November 2022, Leon Arnasalam featured for North West Counties side AFC Liverpool. On the 22nd December 2022, Leon Arnasalam re-signed for Macclesfield FC on a dual registration deal with AFC Liverpool. On the 24th January 2023, Leon Arnasalam featured for Congleton Town. There was no official announcement from Macclesfield FC or AFC Liverpool that Arnsalam had left either club. However, it is thought that Arnasalam’s North West Counties Football League registration was transferred from AFC Liverpool to Congleton Town. On the 11th May 2023, Macclesfield FC announced their retained list ahead of the 2023/24 season. Leon Arnasalam was not noted as a player who had signed a contract at the club. Instead, Leon Arnasalam was invited back for pre-season training. On the 10th August 2023, after impressing during the 2023/24 pre-season, Leon Arnasalam signed a new one year deal at Macclesfield FC. On the 20th November 2023, Leon Arnasalam was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at Macclesfield FC, over three separate spells, Leon Arnasalam made 7 appearances, scoring 2 goals. On the 24th November 2023, Leon Arnasalam signed for Clitheroe. On the 12th January 2024, Leon Arnasalam signed for Stalybridge Celtic. In October 2024, Leon Arnasalam signed for North West Counties League Premier Division side South Liverpool.


LAURENT MENDY

Skillful centre midfielder Laurent Mendy put pen to paper on a deal with Macclesfield FC on the 22nd June 2021. The strong and athletic midfielder played for a number of amateur teams based in London before moving to ply his trade in Sweden with IFK Amal. Mendy impressed the Macclesfield FC coaching staff while on trial with the club and was handed a first team contract. Laurent Mendy was named captain for Macclesfield FC for the 2021/22 season. After an impressive first season at the Silkmen, on the 11th March 2022, after appearing 38 times and scoring 2 goals, it was announced that Mendy had signed a new two year deal to keep him at Macclesfield FC until the end of the 2023/24 season. Laurent Mendy was named the Macclesfield FC’s Director’s Player Of The Year for the 2021/22 season. On the 12th January 2023, it was announced that Laurent Mendy had signed a new and improved contract until the end of the 2023/24 season. At the time of Mendy’s new deal, he was Macclesfield FC’s record appearance maker, making 75 appearances whilst scoring on 4 occasions. In June 2023, it was announced that Laurent Mendy had been named in the Northern Premier League West Division team of the year for the 2022/23 season. On the 23rd September 2023, in a match against Stafford Rangers, where Macclesfield FC won 2.0, Laurent Mendy became the first player in the history of Macclesfield FC to make 100 appearances for the club. On the 18th January 2024, it was announced that Laurent Mendy had signed a new deal at Macclesfield FC. At the time of Laurent Mendy’s new deal, he had appeared 120 times for Macclesfield FC, scoring 6 goals. On the 9th May 2024, it was announced that Laurent Mendy had been retained by Macclesfield FC for the 2024/25 season. At this time of his new contract, Laurent Mendy had featured 137 times for the Silkmen, scoring 7 goals. On the 4th April 2025, after Macclesfield FC were crowned Northern Premier League champions with 6 matches to spare, it was announced that Laurent Mendy had signed a new contract at Macclesfield FC. At the time of this new contract, Laurent Mendy had made 181 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 9 goals. On the 26th April 2025, Laurent Mendy was named the Macclesfield FC Player’s Player Of The Year for the 2024/25 season. Laurent Mendy’s goal against Bamber Bridge on the 22nd March 2025 was named Goal Of The Season. On the 12th June 2025, Laurent Mendy was named in the Northern Premier League Team Of The Year for the 2024/25 season. On the 2nd July 2025, Laurent Mendy joined National League side Forest Green Rovers from Macclesfield FC for an undisclosed fee. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Laurent Mendy made 186 appearances, scoring 10 goals.

JACK GRIMSHAW

On the 15th June 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of centre midfielder Jack Grimshaw. Grimshaw started his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers before moving to Port Vale. After leaving Port Vale, Grimshaw had spells at FC United Of Manchester, Prescot Cables and Skelmersdale United. In July 2021, it was announced that Grimshaw had been released by Macclesfield FC without making a competitive appearance. After leaving Macclesfield FC, Grimshaw has gone on to play for Newcastle Town, Rocester, Ramsbottom United, Stafford Town, Lower Breck, Pilkington, Skelmersdale United, Eccleshall and Wolverhampton Casuals.



RYAN ROGERS

On the 4th June 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of winger Ryan Rogers. Rogers started his career at Burnley before moving to Scotland and featuring for Gretna FC 2008. On his return to England, Rogers signed for Glossop North End where the winger impressed their then manager Peter Band. After Peter Band was announced as Macclesfield FC Assistant Manager, Rogers followed Band to Macclesfield. On the 24th August 2021, it was announced that Rogers had joined Witton Albion on an initial one month loan. On the 24th November 2021, after the release of the new Macclesfield FC website, it was noted that Rogers was not listed on the player profiles. Although no official announcement, it is thought he had left the club. In December 2021, Rogers signed for Northwich Victoria. On the 22nd February 2022, Rogers signed for Sandbach United. In August 2023, Ryan Rogers side for Welsh side Bala Town. In August 2024, Ryan Rogers signed for Lancaster City. In December 2024, Ryan Rogers signed for Alsager Town. In February 2025, Ryan Rogers signed for Lower Breck. In March 2025, Ryan Rogers signed for Route One Rovers. In February 2026, Ryan Rogers signed for Ruthin Town.


DANNY WHITAKER

In October 2020, Macclesfield FC owner Rob Smethurst announced that Macclesfield Town legend Danny Whitaker would be taking over the reigns as Macclesfield FC manager. Whitaker, with just shy of 400 appearances for Macclesfield Town in two separate stays at the club is seen as a legend by all Macclesfield supporters. Whitaker announced ahead of the 2021/22 season that he would be a player/manager for the season. On the 29th October 2022, after Macclesfield FC’s 0.2 defeat to Guiseley, Danny Whitaker was sacked as manager of Macclesfield FC. Whitaker featured once as a player for Macclesfield FC. He won 48 out of 68 games as manager before being relieved of his duties. On the 17th January 2023, it was announced that Danny Whitaker had been named the new Head Of Player Development, working within the academy structure at Macclesfield FC. On the 20th December 2023, Danny Whitaker left Macclesfield FC, taking over at Northern Premier League side Bradford Park Avenue as their new first team manager. On the 27th August 2024, Danny Whitaker was sacked as Bradford Park Avenue manager. On the 29th August 2024, it was announced that Danny Whitaker had re-joined Macclesfield FC as part of first team manager Robbie Savage’s coaching team.


SIDI FOFANA SANOGO

On the 22nd June 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of combative Spanish midfielder Sidi Fofana Sanogo. Sanogo had stints with Spanish sides UD Fraga and UE Bordeta before moving to England where he featured for AFC Darwen, Bamber Bridge and Radcliffe Borough. Sanogo is comfortable in centre midfield but has also been deployed as right back. On the 30th November 2021, it was announced that Sanogo had signed a dual registration deal with Glossop North End. On the 13th January 2022, Sidi Fofana Sanogo returned to Macclesfield FC. On the 12th March 2022, after the Silkmen were crowned North West Counties Premier Division champions, Robbie Savage announced via the Official Macclesfield FC Facebook page that Sidi Fofana Sanogo had signed a new deal at the club. On the 14th March 2022, Sidi Fofana Sanogo’s contract was confirmed, with Sanogo signing a new deal until the end of the 2022/23 season, with the option of extending for an additional 12 months. At the time of his new contract, Sanogo had featured 23 times for the Silkmen. On the 10th June 2022, it was announced that Sidi Fofana Sanogo had joined Runcorn Linnets. During his time at the Silkmen, Sidi Fofana Sanogo made 26 appearances. In February 2023, Sidi Fofana Sanogo signed for Clitheroe. In July 2023, Sidi Fofana Sanogo signed for Atherton Collieries. In June 2024, Sidi Fofana Sanogo signed for Bamber Bridge. On the 30th August 2024, Sidi Fofana Sanogo signed for Welsh side Flint Town.


AARON DWYER

Aaron Dwyer signed for Macclesfield FC on the 1st July 2021. An extremely hard working and technically gifted footballer, Dwyer is comfortable playing on either wing or also as a forward. Dwyer has previously played for a number of Non League clubs and was most recently at Bury AFC after spells with Cheadle Town, Stockport Town, Wythenshawe Town, Mossley and New Mills. On the 4th April 2022, after 10 goals in 36 appearances for the Silkmen, it was announced that Dwyer had been offered a new deal at Macclesfield FC. On the 7th April 2022, Aaron Dwyer signed a new deal at Macclesfield FC, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2022/23 season. Aaron Dwyer won the Macclesfield FC goal of the season in the 2021/22 season for his goal against Lower Breck. On the 17th May 2022, despite no official announcement, Dwyer reported via his personal Twitter account that he had left the club. Dwyer made 37 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 11 goals. On the 18th May 2022, Dwyer’s departure was officially confirmed by the Silkmen. On the 18th May 2022, Aaron Dwyer re-joined Wythenshawe Town. In June 2023, Aaron Dwyer signed for Stalybridge Celtic. In September 2024, Aaron Dwyer signed for Ossett United on a dual registration deal with Stockport Town. On the 29th October 2024, Aaron Dwyer signed for Atherton Collieries. On the 22nd August 2025, Aaron Dwyer signed for Wythenshawe.


SAM GRIMSHAW

Left midfielder Sam Grimshaw signed for Macclesfield FC on the 18th June 2021. Grimshaw began his youth career at Manchester City before moving to Altrincham. Grimshaw then went on to feature for Glossop North End before going on trial at Premier League giants Manchester United. Before signing for Macclesfield, Grimshaw had spells at Curzon Ashton, Southport, Stockport County, Hednesford Town and Trafford. On the 12th March 2022, after the Silkmen were crowned North West Counties Premier Division champions, Robbie Savage announced via the Official Macclesfield FC Facebook page that Sam Grimshaw had signed a new deal at the club. On the 13th March 2022, Grimshaw’s contract was confirmed with the left back/ left midfielder signing a new deal until the end of the 2022/23 season, with the option of extending for an additional 12 months. On the 18th May 2023, it was announced that Sam Grimshaw had signed improved terms on his current contract. At the time of Sam Grimshaw’s new deal, he had appeared 42 times for Macclesfield FC, scoring 3 goals. On the 26th September 2023, it was announced that Sam Grimshaw had left the club on a four-month loan deal, dropping down a division to join Northern Premier League West Division side Widnes. At the time of his loan departure, Grimshaw had made 44 appearances for the Silkmen, scoring 3 goals. Before this loan move, during the 2023/24 season, Sam Grimshaw had found first team opportunities limited at Macclesfield FC, making only 2 appearances. On the 9th May 2024, Sam Grimshaw was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Sam Grimshaw made 46 appearances, scoring 3 goals.


KIERAN CURTIS

On the 16th June 2021, Macclesfield FC completed the signing of Kieran Curtis. Curtis, a midfielder who can play on either wing or in the attacking midfield role excelled for FC St Helens before making the move to Macclesfield FC. On the 14th August 2021, after making two appearances for the club, Curtis completed a move to Northwich Victoria. Curtis has since featured for Pilkington, Wythenshawe Amateurs, Barnton FC and FC St Helens.



NEIL DANNS

On the 9th September 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of experienced midfielder Neil Danns on a Non-Contract basis. Danns, a Guyana international, started his career at Blackburn Rovers and spent time on loan at Blackpool, Hartlepool and Colchester before joining Colchester on a permanent deal. After two successful seasons, Danns moved on to Birmingham for a fee of £500k. A year and a half later, Danns moved to Crystal Palace for £800k. Danns spent three years at The Eagles before moving to Leicester City where the midfielder spent time out on loan at Bristol City, Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers. Danns’ loan spell at Bolton was made permanent with the midfielder being a consistent starter during his two-year spell. Danns then joined Bury, spending three seasons at the club before the club were liquidated. After Bury’s liquidation, Danns joined Tranmere Rovers and spent one season at the club. Ahead of the 2020/21 season, Danns actually featured in Macclesfield Town’s last ever match against Witton Albion as a triallist. Danns featured for Halifax Town, Radcliffe and Connahs Quay Nomads during the 2020/21 season before signing for Macclesfield FC. After 20 goals in 30 appearances for the Silkmen, on the 9th March 2022, it was announced that Danns had signed a contract extension until the end of the 2022/23 season. On the 22nd March, it was announced that Neil Danns had been recalled by the Guyana national team, making history as he became Macclesfield FC’s first ever international player. Neil Danns was named Macclesfield FC’s Player Of The Year and the Player’s Player Of The Year for the 2021/22 season. On the 13th December 2022, Neil Danns was named the new interim first team manager for Macclesfield FC (alongside his playing role). After 4 wins out of 4 games, on the 10th January 2023, Neil Danns was named the permanent manager of Macclesfield FC until the end of the 2022/23 season. On the 14th April 2023, Neil Danns’ contract was extended until the end of the 2023/24 season. Neil Danns was won the Silkmen Supporters Trust Merit Award for the 2022/23 season. On the 5th May 2023, it was announced that Neil Danns had left his player/manager role at Macclesfield FC to move to League Two side Tranmere Rovers as their new assistant manager. As a player, Neil Danns featured 66 times for Macclesfield FC, scoring 28 goals. As a manager, Neil Danns managed the Silkmen for 21 games, winning 15, drawing 5 times and losing once. In June 2023, it was announced that Neil Danns had been named in the Northern Premier League West Division team of the year for the 2022/23 season. On the 12th May 2025, Neil Danns was named the manager of National League North side Southport.


DREW LOWE

On the 8th October 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the loan signing of midfielder Drew Lowe from Conference North side Chester for a period of three months. Lowe started his career at Stoke City before moving to Chester at the age of 16. Lowe signed his first senior deal for Chester in June 2021. Although no official announcement on the 9th November 2021, Drew Lowe was removed from the Macclesfield FC squad list on the NWCFL website- meaning Lowe returned to Chester. Lowe made one substitute appearance during his time at the Silkmen. In December 2021, Lowe joined Runcorn Town on loan. In January 2022, Lowe signed for Glossop North End on loan. On the 20th May 2022, it was announced that Drew Lowe had been released by Chester. After his release from Chester, Drew Lowe signed for Loughborough Students (alongside working towards his university degree). In June 2024, it was announced that Drew Lowe had left Loughborough Students. In July 2024, Drew Lowe signed for Anstey Nomads.



MAX BARDSLEY-ROWE

On the 14th October 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of talented winger Max Bardsley-Rowe from Irlam. Bardsley-Rowe started his career at Preston North End before moving to Stockport County. After leaving Stockport, Bardsley-Rowe played for Loughborough Dynamo before signing for Irlam. Before signing for Macclesfield, Bardsley-Rowe had scored 12 goals in 13 matches for Irlam. On the 15th June 2022, after only 1 goal in 18 appearances for the Silkmen, it was announced that Max Bardsley-Rowe had joined Atherton Collieries on a 3-month loan deal. On the 16th June 2022, it was announced that Max Bardsley-Rowe had been appointed Macclesfield FC’s new Commercial and Sponsorships Manager. This role will work alongside his footballing career. On the 30th September 2022, Max Bardsley-Rowe returned to Macclesfield FC from Atherton Colleries and was immediately loaned out to Widnes on a 1 month loan deal. On the 2nd November 2022, Max Bardsley-Rowe’s loan deal at Widnes was extended until the end of January 2023. On the 13th January 2023, it was announced that Max Bardsley-Rowe had joined Prestwich Heys until the end of the 2022/23 season. On the 6th May 2023, it was announced that Max Bardsley-Rowe had been released by Macclesfield FC. Max Bardsley-Rowe made 18 appearances for the Silkmen, scoring once. In July 2023, Max Bardsley-Rowe left his role as Macclesfield FC Commercial and Sponsorships Manager. In July 2023, Max Bardsley-Rowe signed a short term deal at Stockport Town. In March 2024, after a spell in Australia, Max Bardsley-Rowe re-signed for Stockport Town. On the 8th July 2024, Max Bardsley-Rowe signed for Atherton Collieries. In October 2024, Max Bardsley-Rowe signed for Prestwich Heys. In September 2025, Max Bardsley-Rowe signed for Irlam. In January 2026, Max Bardsley-Rowe signed for Daisy Hill.


JORDAN SIMPSON

On the 18th October 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of midfielder Jordan Simpson after his release from FC United Of Manchester. Simpson started his career at Swindon Town before moving to Forest Green Rovers. Before leaving FGR, Simpson spent time on loan at Hungerford Town, Havant and Waterlooville and Hampton and Richmond Borough before joining Bath City on a permanent deal. Simpson made six appearances for Bath before joining FC United Of Manchester. On the 16th December 2021, after seven appearances for the club, it was announced that Simpson had joined Ashton United. In October 2022, Jordan Simpson signed for Widnes.

CALLUM WEST

On the 28th October 2021, it was announced that Callum West had joined up with the first team squad. West had previously been playing for the Macclesfield FC Under 16 side. West made his Macclesfield FC debut on the 7th December 2021 against Stockport County in the Cheshire Senior Cup. Callum West scored his first ever competitive goal for Macclesfield FC on the 19th March 2022 against Avro. At the time of this goal, West was still 16 years old. Callum West was named the Macclesfield FC Young Player of the Season for the 2021/22 season. On the 18th May 2022, it was announced that Callum West had signed for Premier League side Burnley. West made 8 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring once. In May 2024, Callum West was released by Burnley. On the 17th July 2024, Callum West signed for League One side Barnsley. On the 13th December 2024, Callum West joined Northern Premier League side Hyde United on a 1 month loan deal from Barnsley. On the 21st February 2025, Callum West joined Northern Premier League side Hebburn Town on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season. In May 2025, Callum West was released by Barnsley. On the 3rd July 2025, Callum West signed for Cymru Premier side Connah’s Quay Nomads.


OLIVER RYAN

On the 28th October 2021, it was announced that Oliver Ryan had joined up with the first team squad. Ryan had previously been playing for the Macclesfield FC Under 16 side. On the 2nd November 2021, Ryan made his debut for Macclesfield FC against Cheadle Heath Nomads in the Cheshire Senior Cup. Ryan managed to get on the scoresheet in a 3-2 win, becoming Macclesfield FC’s youngest ever goalscorer.


MOSOPEFOLUWA ADERINTO

On the 2nd November 2021, Macclesfield FC announced that midfielder Mosopefoluwa Aderinto had joined the first team squad, progressing up from the youth set up at the Silkmen. Aderinto made his Macclesfield FC debut against Cheadle Heath Nomads in the Cheshire Senior Cup.




ELLIOT ROKKA

On the 30th November 2021, Macclesfield FC completed the loan signing of Elliot Rokka on a 1-month deal from Atherton Colleries. Rokka, who can play on either wing or upfront, began his career at Manchester United before spending time at Macclesfield Town BTEC Academy. After leaving Macclesfield Town BTEC Academy, Rokka signed for Radcliffe before moving to Tranmere Rovers. Rokka spent time at loan at Colwyn Bay, Warrington Town and Hyde United before signing a permanent deal at Atherton Colleries. On the 28th December 2021, Robbie Savage announced via a Facebook Live on the Star Lane End Facebook group that Rokka’s contract would not be renewed. Rokka made three appearances for the Silkmen. In July 2022, Elliot Rokka joined Witton Albion. On the 3rd October 2023, Elliot Rokka was released by Witton Albion. On the 18th November 2023, Elliot Rokka re-signed for Witton Albion. In December 2024, Elliot Rokka signed for Stalybridge Celtic. On the 27th January 2026, Elliott Rokka signed for Runcorn Linnets.

NATHAN BECA

Youth team player Nathan Beca was named on the bench for Macclesfield FC in their match in the Cheshire Senior Cup against Stockport County on the 7th December 2021. On the 26th March 2022, Nathan Beca made his Macclesfield FC debut, coming off the bench against Congleton Town in a 3-1 win for the Silkmen. Nathan Beca was named the Macclesfield FC Young Player of the Season for the 2022/23 season. Despite no official announcement from Macclesfield FC, during the 2024/25 season Nathan Beca appeared regularly for North West Counties First Division North side Ashton Athletic. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Nathan Beca made 6 appearances.




JELANI BLAKE

Youth team player Jelani Blake was named on the bench for Macclesfield FC in their match in the Cheshire Senior Cup against Stockport County on the 7th December 2021. On the 16th March 2022, Blake made his Macclesfield FC debut against Northwich Victoria in the first round of the Macron Cup. After impressing for the Macclesfield FC first team during the 2022/23 pre season, it was announced on the 26th July 2022, that Jelani Blake had signed a first team contract at the Silkmen. Despite no official announcement by Macclesfield FC, Jelani Blake appeared for Cheadle Heath Nomads during the 2022/23 season. It is suspected that Blake had signed a dual registration deal between Macclesfield FC and Cheadle Heath Nomads. In August 2024, Jelani Blake signed for Maine Road. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Jelani Blake made 4 appearances. In December 2024, Jelani Blake signed for Alsager Town. In August 2025, Jelani Blake signed for New Mills.


ABDUL DJALO

On the 20th December 2021, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of centre midfielder Abdul Djalo on a two year deal. Djalo was previously on a dual registration deal with Warrington Rylands and Skelmersdale United. Before signing the dual registration deal, Djalo spent time at FC Barnton. Djalo was on the books of Manchester United and Crewe Alexandra as a youngster. After 4 appearances for Macclesfield FC, on the 12th March 2022, Abdul Djalo joined City Of Liverpool on loan until the end of the 2021/22 season. On the 4th August 2022, it was announced that Abdul Djajo had re-joined his former side Skelmersdale United on a season long loan deal. On the 6th May 2023, it was announced that Abdul Djalo had been released by Macclesfield FC. Abdul Djalo made 4 appearances for the Silkmen. In August 2023, Abdul Djalo signed for FC St Helens. In November 2023, Abdul Djalo signed for Glossop North End.


MARK DUFFY

On the 7th January 2022, Macclesfield FC completed the signing of experienced winger Mark Duffy after his contract expired at League Two side Tranmere Rovers. Duffy made 7 appearances for Tranmere Rovers, including 3 in the league during his 6 months at the club. At the start of his career, Duffy impressed for Vauxhall Motors, Prescot Cables and Southport before moving to Morecambe. After Morecambe, Duffy joined Scunthorpe United in the Championship and had spent much of his career plying his trade in either the Champiosnhip or League One before dropping down to the North West Counties to join Macclesfield FC. After Scunthorpe United and before the Silkmen, Duffy featured for Doncaster Rovers, Birmingham City, Chesterfield, Burton Albion, Sheffield United, Stoke CIty, Fleetwood Town and Tranmere Rovers. Duffy also spent time on loan to Dutch Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag during the 2019/20 season. With Duffy impressing greatly in his 11 appearances for Macclesfield FC as they were crowned North West Counties Premier League champions, on the 14th March 2022, it was announced that Duffy had signed a new deal until the end of the 2022/23 season. On the 13th December 2022, Mark Duffy was named the new assistant interim first team manager for Macclesfield FC (alongside his playing role). After 4 wins out of 4 games, on the 10th January 2023, Mark Duffy was named the permanent Macclesfield FC assistant manager until the end of the 2022/23 season, working alongside manager Neil Danns. On the 14th April 2023, Mark Duffy’s contract was extended until the end of the 2023/24 season. On the 5th May 2023, after it was announced Neil Danns had left his role as Macclesfield FC manager, Mark Duffy was announced as the new first team player-manager of Macclesfield FC. On the 18th May 2023, it was announced that Mark Duffy had signed improved terms on his current contract. On the 25th October 2023, Mark Duffy was sacked as Macclesfield FC manager. During his time as manager at Macclesfield FC, Duffy managed 18 games, winning 10, drawing 2 and losing 6. During his time as a player for Macclesfield FC, Mark Duffy made 45 appearances, scoring 2 goals. On the 9th February 2024, Mark Duffy signed a playing contract at Northern Premier League side Warrington Rylands. On the 24th May 2024, Mark Duffy was named the new manager of Warrington Rylands. On the 23rd September 2024, after only 9 matches, with Warrington Rylands sitting second bottom of the Northern Premier League, Mark Duffy was sacked as Warrington Rylands manager. On the 12th May 2025, Mark Duffy was named Assistant Manager at National League North side Southport.

ALEX KIWOMYA

On the 3rd March 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Alex Kiwomya. The talented winger, who can player either left or right wing started his career at Rotherham United before signing for Chelsea. After his release by the Premier League giants, before signing for the Silkmen, Kiwomya spent time at Barnsley, Fleetwood Town, Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers, Chesterfield, Chorley, Kings Lynn Town and Bruno’s Magpies. After only one appearance for Macclesfield FC, on the 11th March 2022, it was announced that Alex Kiwomya had signed a contract extension until the end of the 2023/24 season. On the 4th August 2022, ahead of the 2022/23 season, it was announced that Alex Kiwomya had left Macclesfield FC by mutual consent. Alex Kiwomya made 3 starts for the Silkmen, with a further 3 appearances coming off the bench and managed 1 goal during his time at the club. After leaving Macclesfield FC, in Auguest 2022, Alex Kiwomya joined Stafford Rangers. In July 2023, Alex Kiwomya signed for Stalybridge Celtic. In June 2024, Alex Kiwomya signed for National League North side Farsley Celtic. In October 2024, Alex Kiwomya signed for Warrington Rylands.


HARVEY SMITH

Youth team player Harvey Smith made his Silkmen debut off the bench for Macclesfield FC in the Silkmen’s match in the Macron Cup first round against Northwich Victoria on the 16th March 2022.

Youth team player Joachim Adeoti made his Macclesfield FC debut on the 19th March 2022 in the Silkmen’s 6-0 win over Avro. The youngster can play on either wing or also as a striker. Joachim Adeoti played for Manchester United at youth level before joining Macclesfield FC.



HARRY BOWER

On the 7th June 2022, Macclesfield FC completed the signing of attacking midfielder Harry Bower after his release from AFC Telford United. Bower signed a 12-month deal with the Silkmen, with the club holding an option to extend by an additional 12 months. Bower started his career at TNS, spending time out on loan at Oswestry before moving to AFC Telford United in 2020. During the 2021/22 season, Bower spent time out on loan at Barwell and Witton Albion. After only 1 start and 4 appearances off the bench for the Silkmen, on the 25th November 2022, it was announced that Harry Bower had joined Alvechurch on loan until the 22nd December 2022. On the 30th December 2022, Harry Bower joined 1874 Northwich on a one month loan deal. On the 2nd February 2023, it was announced that Harry Bower’s loan spell at 1874 Northwich had been extended until the end of the 2022/23 season. On the 6th May 2023, it was announced that Harry Bower had been released by Macclesfield FC. Harry Bower made 5 appearances for the Silkmen, scoring once. In June 2023, Harry Bower signed for Hednesford Town. In October 2023, Harry Bower signed for Whitchurch Alport. On the 12th June 2025, Harry Bower signed for Northern Premier League West Division side Shifnal Town. On the 4th October 2025, Harry Bower signed for Nantwich Town. In February 2026, Harry Bower signed for Newcastle Town.


BRANDON NEWELL

On the 10th June 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Brandon Newell from North West Counties First Division South side Abbey Hulton United. Newell began his career at Rochester, appearing 6 times before moving to Abbey Hulton. After 32 appearances for Abbey Hulton United, in the 2021/22 season, Newell became the youngest ever player to win the North West Counties First Division South Player Of The Season award at only 17 years of age. When announcing the signing, Macclesfield FC announced that Newell had turned down opportunities at a higher level to join the Silkmen. On the 13th June 2022, three days after joining Macclesfield FC, it was announced that Brandon Newell had signed a dual registration deal with Wythenshawe Town. In March 2023, Brandon Newell’s dual registration deal between Macclesfield FC and Wythenshawe Town was ended. Brandon Newell went on to sign a dual registration deal with his former club Abbey Hulton United and Macclesfield FC. On the 11th May 2023, Macclesfield FC announced their retained list ahead of the 2023/24 season. Brandon Newell was not noted as a player who had signed a contract at the club. Instead, Brandon Newell was invited back for pre-season training. In July 2023, despite appearing for Macclesfield FC regularly during the 2023/24 pre-season, Brandon Newell signed for Stalybridge Celtic. Brandon Newell didn’t manage to make a competitive appearance for Macclesfield FC. On the 11th November 2023, Brandon Newell left Stalybridge Celtic by mutual consent. On the 18th November 2023, Brandon Newell signed for Witton Albion. In June 2024, Brandon Newell left Witton Albion. On the 17th June 2024, Brandon Newell signed for Prescot Cables. Less than a month later, on the 16th July 2024, it was announced the Brandon Newell had left Prescot Cables. After his departure from Prescot Cables, Brandon Newell returned to Macclesfield FC on trial however failed to gain a contract. On the 3rd August 2024, it was announced that Brandon Newell had re-joined Prescot Cables. In September 2024, Brandon Newell signed for Hanley Town. In November 2024, Brandon Newell signed for Stalybridge Celtic. In August 2025, Brandon Newell joined Winsford United on loan from Stalybridge Celtic. On the 10th December 2025, Brandon Newell was released by Stalybridge Celtic. On the 13th December 2025, Brandon Newell signed for Chasetown.


ALEX CURRAN

On the 20th June 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Alex Curran from National League North side Curzon Ashton for an undisclosed fee. Curran signed a 2 year deal at the Silkmen, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2023/24 season. Curran began his career at Blackburn Rovers and also spent time at Colne, FC United Of Manchester and Stockport County before joining Curzon Ashton. Curran scored 13 goals in 44 appearances for Curzon Ashton in their 2021/22 season, before dropping down to the Northern Premier League West Divison to join the Macclesfield FC ahead of the 2022/23 season. After 20 goals in 42 appearances for Macclesfield FC during the 2022/23 season, on the 17th May 2023 it was announced that Alex Curran had signed a new contract at the Silkmen. After 23 goals for Macclesfield FC during the 2023/24 season, on the 9th May 2024, it was announced that Alex Curran had been retained by Macclesfield FC for the 2024/25 season. At this time of his new contract, Alex Curran had featured 84 times for the Silkmen, scoring 43 goals. On the 5th February 2025, it was announced that Alex Curran had rejoined National League North side Curzon Ashton for an undisclosed fee. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Alex Curran made 118 appearances, scoring 46 goals.


CHARLIE DUKE

On the 26th August 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Charlie Duke on a dual registration deal from North West Counties First Division South side Wythenshawe Amateurs. Duke began his career at St Helens Town before moving to Torquay United. After a loan move back at his former side St Helens Town, Duke featured for Prescot Cables, Ashton United and Truro City. After leaving Truro City, Duke spent time at Rushall Olympic, Marine, Skelmersdale United and FC St Helens, before signing for Wythenshawe Amateurs ahead of the 2022/23 season. Ahead of signing a dual registration deal with the Silkmen, Duke had featured six times for Wythenshawe Amateurs, scoring twice. On the 11th May 2023, Macclesfield FC announced their retained list ahead of the 2023/24 season. Charlie Duke was not included on this list. Despite no official announcement, it is thought that Charlie Duke had left the club. Charlie Duke didn’t manage to make an appearance for Macclesfield FC. In June 2023, Charlie Duke signed for Charnock Richard. On the 5th July 2024, Charlie Duke signed for Witton Albion. On the 14th August 2024, Charlie Duke signed for FC St Helens. On the 12th June 2025, Charlie Duke signed for Charnock Richard.


LUKE MURPHY

On the 28th August 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of experienced midfielder Luke Murphy after he left League One side Crewe Alexandra at the end of the 2021/22 season. Murphy started his career at Crewe Alexandra before moving to Leeds United for £1 million. Murphy made over 100 appearances for Leeds United, as well as spending a loan period at Burton Albion before joining Bolton Wanderers. Murphy then re-joined Crewe Alexandra, featuring 78 times before dropping down to the Northern Premier League West Division to join the Silkmen. Luke Murphy was named the Macclesfield FC’s Director’s Player Of The Year for the 2022/23 season. During the 2022/23 season, Luke Murphy made 42 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring once. On the 18th May 2023, it was announced that Luke Murphy had signed improved terms on his current contract. On the 9th May 2024, Luke Murphy was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Luke Murphy made 72 appearances, scoring 1 goal.


ABIMBOLA OBASOTO

On the 23rd September 2022, winger Abimbola Obasoto signed for Macclesfield FC after leaving Bury AFC at the end of the 2021/22 season. Obasoto began his career at Morecambe before joining Bury AFC at the start of the 2021/22 season. Obasoto helped Bury AFC win the North West Counties Football League Division One North division, scoring 13 times and grabbing a further 11 assists. Obasoto was named Bury AFC’s Player Of The Year for the 2021/22 season. Ahead of joining the Silkmen, Obasoto was training with League Two side Barrow. After only 2 appearances for the Silkmen, on the 25th November 2022 it was announced that Abimbola Obasoto had joined Bootle on loan until the 27th December 2022. On the 29th December 2022, it was announced that Abimbola Obasoto had joined Clitheroe on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season. On the 6th May 2023, it was announced that Abimbola Obasoto had been released by Macclesfield FC. Abimbola Obasoto made 2 appearances for the Silkmen. On the 4th August 2023, Abimbola Obasoto signed for Bury FC. In October 2023, Abimbola Obasoto signed for Northern Premier League side Radcliffe. In January 2024, Abimbola Obasoto signed for Guiseley AFC. In March 2024, Abimbola Obasoto signed for Swedish Third Division side Torns IF. In February 2025, Abimbola Obasoto signed for Swedish Third Division side Ängelholms FF. In August 2025, Abimbola Obasoto signed for Scottish League Two side Elgin City. On the 4th February 2026, Abimbola Obasoto signed for United Arab Emirates Second Division side Dubai City.


JAMES HARDY

On the 27th October 2022, Macclesfield FC announced that James Hardy had joined the Silkmen from Buxton on a one-month loan deal. After playing for Oldham Athletic and Manchester City at youth levels, Hardy began his senior career at AFC Fylde, scoring 16 goals in 91 appearances. After leaving AFC Fylde, Hardy signed for Walsall before spending time at AFC Telford, Chester and Altrincham before signing for Buxton in June 2022. After 6 appearances for Macclesfield FC, on the 25th November 2022, it was announced that James Hardy’s loan had been extended until the 8th January 2023. On the 23rd December 2022, after 8 appearances for the Silkmen, it was announced that James Hardy had signed a permanent deal for Macclesfield FC from Buxton. On the 25th September 2023, it was announced that James Hardy had left the club on a three-month loan deal, joining fellow Northern Premier League side Ashton United. At the time of his loan departure, Hardy had made 26 appearances for the Silkmen, scoring twice. During the 2023/24 season, James Hardy had found first team opportunities limited at Macclesfield FC, making only 5 appearances, all coming off the bench. On the 23rd October 2023, after 2 goals in 7 appearances for Ashton United, James Hardy was recalled by Macclesfield FC. On the 21st November 2023, James Hardy joined Ashton United for an undisclosed fee. During his time at Macclesfield FC, James Hardy made 29 appearances, scoring 2 goals.


DYLAN GREAVES

On the 16th November 2022, youth team player Dylan Greaves made his Macclesfield FC debut, starting in centre midfield, in the Silkmen’s Cheshire Senior Cup first round match against Northwich Victoria. Dylan Greaves impressed greatly for Macclesfield FC at youth levels, as well as featuring for the Macclesfield FC Reserves side before making his first team debut.

FREDDIE SAVAGE

On the 16th November 2022, youth team player Freddie Savage made his Macclesfield FC debut, coming off the substitutes bench, in the Silkmen’s Cheshire Senior Cup first round match against Northwich Victoria. Before making his Macclesfield FC debut, Freddie Savage was a regular for the Silkmen at youth levels. Freddie Savage is the son of Macclesfield FC manager and former Welsh international Robbie Savage. On the 26th April 2025, Freddie Savage was named Macclesfield FC Young Player Of The Year for the 2024/25 season. At the time of this award, Freddie Savage had made 10 appearances for Macclesfield FC.


NATHAN LOWE

On the 21st November 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the loan signing of Kidderminster Harriers midfielder Nathan Lowe. Lowe’s loan deal would run initially until the 8th January 2023. Lowe began his career at Burnley before joining FC United of Manchester. Before joining Kidderminster Harriers in May 2022, Lowe had featured for Spennymoor Town, Southport, South Shields and Darlington. On signing for Macclesfield FC, Lowe revealed that he had turned down loan opportunities from club’s in the Conference North to sign for the Silkmen in the Northern Premier League West Division. On the 7th January 2023, Ashton United announced that they had signed Nathan Lowe on loan until the end of the season. Nathan Lowe made 6 appearances for The Silkmen, without scoring a goal. After his release from Kidderminster Harriers at the end of the 2022/23 season, in June 2023, Nathan Lowe signed a permanent deal at Ashton United. In January 2025, Nathan Lowe was released by Ashton United. In February 2025, Nathan Lowe signed for Australian side Broadbeach United.

DYLAN FAGE

On the 2nd February 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of tricky winger Dylan Fage from Glossop North End. Dylan Fage began his career at French side Auxerre II before heading to England to join Oldham Athletic in July 2019. Dylan Fage made 79 appearances for Oldham Athletic before his release at the end of the 2021/22 season. On the 21st January 2023, Dylan Fage joined Glossop North End but went on to join the Silkmen only 12 days later without making an appearance for the club. On the 6th May 2023, it was announced that Dylan Fage had been released by Macclesfield FC. Dylan Fage made 5 appearances for the Silkmen, scoring once. On the 14th July 2023, Dylan Fage signed for National League South side St Albans City. On the 26th January 2024, Dylan Fage joined National League South side Worthing. In June 2024, Dylan Fage was released by Worthing.


NAVID NASSERI

On the 10th February 2022, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of winger Navid Nasseri on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season. Nasseri began his Bury before signing for Birmingham City. After his release from Birmingham City, Nasseri featured for Macclesfield Town on one occasion before signing for Swedish side Syrianska FC. After one season in Sweden, Nasseri returned to England to sign for Gillingham. Nasseri made 8 appearances for Gillingham before joining Danske Bank Premiership side Glentoran. Nasseri spent a season at Glentoran, before joining Linfield and then Larne the following season before his release at the end of the 2021/22 season. On the 6th May 2023, it was announced that Navid Nasseri had been released by Macclesfield FC. Navid Nasseri made 1 appearance for the Silkmen, scoring once. In October 2024, Navid Nasseri signed for Stalybridge Celtic.


GILBERTO GOMEZ

On the 28th February 2023, Gilberto Gomez was named on the bench for Macclesfield FC in their Cheshire Senior Cup Third Round tie against fellow Northern Premier League West Division side Runcorn Linnets. Ahead of the match it was announced that the squad for this match would be a mixture of Macclesfield FC first team, the International Academy, the Under 18 side and also players from the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy. On the 23rd August 2023, it was announced that Gilberto Gomez had joined Spanish Fifth Tier side Moralo CP. Gilberto Gomez made one appearance for Macclesfield FC.


JUNIOR GUDIEL

On the 28th February 2023, Junior Gudiel was named on the bench for Macclesfield FC in their Cheshire Senior Cup Third Round tie against fellow Northern Premier League West Division side Runcorn Linnets. Ahead of the match it was announced that the squad for this match would be a mixture of Macclesfield FC first team, the International Academy, the Under 18 side and also players from the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy. Junior Gudiel was named Macclesfield FC International Academy Player’s Player Of The Year for the 2021/22 season. For the 2022/23 season, Junior Gudiel was named Macclesfield FC International Academy ‘Most Improved Player’.


HAYDEN CAMPBELL

On the 16th May 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of attacking midfielder Hayden Campbell from National League North side Curzon Ashton. Campbell began his footballing career at Port Vale before moving to Salford City. Before signing for Curzon Ashton in January 2023, Campbell also featured for Stalybridge Celtic, Altrincham, FC United of Manchester and Marine. During the 2022/23 season, Hayden Campbell scored 20 goals in all competitions across his time at Marine and Curzon Ashton. On the 20th October 2023, Hayden Campbell left Macclesfield FC to rejoin National League North side Curzon Ashton. During his time at the Silkmen, Hayden Campbell made 6 appearances, scoring 2 goals. In May 2024, Hayden Campbell was released by Curzon Ashton. In June 2024, Hayden Campbell signed for National League North side Rushall Olympic. On the 15th October 2024, Hayden Campbell signed for Leek Town.


PAUL DAWSON

On the 22nd May 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of midfielder Paul Dawson from Northern Premier League side Bamber Bridge. Dawson began his career at Morecambe before joining Kendall Town. Initially starting as a right back, after his move to Bamber Bridge, Paul Dawson was moved to centre midfield. Dawson spent time at Lancaster City before rejoining Bamber Bridge in November 2021. During the 2022/23 season, the season before joining the Silkmen, Dawson played a key role for Bamber Bridge, scoring 7 goals as they went on to reach the Northern Premier League play off final, before losing 1.0 in extra time to Warrington Town. On the 9th May 2024, it was announced that Paul Dawson had been retained by Macclesfield FC for the 2024/25 season. At this time of his new contract, Paul Dawson had featured 49 times for the Silkmen, scoring 8 goals. On the 20th June 2024, it was announced that Paul Dawson had been named in the Northern Premier League Team Of The Season for the 2023/24 season. On the 4th April 2025, after Macclesfield FC were crowned Northern Premier League champions with 6 matches to spare, it was announced that Paul Dawson had signed a new contract at Macclesfield FC. At the time of this new contract, Paul Dawson had made 86 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 18 goals.

JON NOLAN

On the 20th July 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Jon Nolan. Nolan featured in three games on trial during the 2023/24 pre season for the Silkmen. Jon Nolan began his career at Everton before making his professional debut while at Stockport County. After Stockport County, Nolan went on to feature for Lincoln City, Wrexham, Grimsby Town and Chesterfield before signing for Shrewsbury Town in 2017. Nolan excelled for Shrewsbury Town as they reached the League One Play Offs during the 2017/18 season. Ahead of the 2018/19 season, Nolan moved to Championship side Ipswich Town along with fellow Shrewsbury Town defender Aristote Nsiala for a fee of £2 million. Jon Nolan made 61 appearances for Ipswich Town over the next three seasons before joining Bristol Rovers in February 2022. Jon Nolan spent the 2022/23 side at League Two side Tranmere Rovers before dropping down to the Northern Premier League to sign for Macclesfield FC ahead of the 2023/24 season. On the 9th May 2024, Jon Nolan was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Jon Nolan made 9 appearances.


LUKE DUFFY

On the 11th August 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Luke Duffy from National League North side Warrington Town for a ‘club record undisclosed fee’. Duffy began his career at Salford City before joining Lower Breck. After impressing for Lower Breck, Duffy joined Warrington Town in 2020. Luke Duffy played an integral role for Warrington Town during the 2022/23 season as they were promoted from the Northern Premier League to the National League North. Luke Duffy has previously had trials at Premier League sides Brentford and Crystal Palace. On the 9th May 2024, it was announced that Luke Duffy had been retained by Macclesfield FC for the 2024/25 season. At this time of his new contract, Luke Duffy had featured 47 times for the Silkmen, scoring 10 goals. On the 4th April 2025, after Macclesfield FC were crowned Northern Premier League champions with 6 matches to spare, it was announced that Luke Duffy had signed a new contract at Macclesfield FC. At the time of this new contract, Luke Duffy had made 91 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 19 goals. On the 12th June 2025, Luke Duffy was named in the Northern Premier League Team Of The Year for the 2024/25 season.


JOHN ROONEY

On the 31st August 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of attacking midfielder John Rooney after his departure from National League side Oldham Athletic. John Rooney, brother of former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, began his career at Macclesfield Town before moving to America to sign for New York Red Bulls. After a short spell at Orlando City, Rooney returned to England to sign for Barnsley. Before joining Macclesfield FC, John Rooney had been a regular name of the team sheet for a host of National League and League Two football clubs. As well as the clubs already listed, John Rooney’s previous clubs included Bury FC, Chester, Wrexham, Guiseley, Barrow and Stockport County. On the 9th May 2024, it was announced that John Rooney had been retained by Macclesfield FC for the 2024/25 season. At this time of his new contract, John Rooney had featured 44 times for the Silkmen, scoring 20 goals. On the 20th June 2024, it was announced that John Rooney had been named in the Northern Premier League Team Of The Season for the 2023/24 season. On the 22nd July 2024, John Rooney was named the Macclesfield FC Player Of The Year for the 2023/24 season. On the 4th April 2025, after Macclesfield FC were crowned Northern Premier League champions with 6 matches to spare, it was announced that John Rooney had signed a new contract at Macclesfield FC. At the time of this new contract, John Rooney had made 85 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 30 goals. On the 1st July 2025, after the departure of manager Robbie Savage to National League side Forest Green Rovers, John Rooney was announced as the new Macclesfield FC manager. Subsequently, John Rooney announced his retirement from football to focus on his managerial duties. During his time as a player at Macclesfield FC, John Rooney made 90 appearances, scoring 32 goals. On the 7th August 2025, at a fans forum, John Rooney announced that he was still registered as a player for the 2025/26 season.


ALEX HURST

On the 27th September 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of winger Alex Hurst on a permanent deal until the end of the 2023/24 season from National League side York City. Alex Hurst began his career at Macclesfield Town, featuring for the Silkmen academy before moving to Crewe Alexandra and then Matlock Town. Hurst’s impressive form at Matlock Town earned him a move to Bradford Park Avenue in the National League North. After impressing for Bradford Park Avenue, Alex Hurst made to the move to the Football League with Port Vale. In June 2023, Alex Hurst left Port Vale to join National League side York City for an undisclosed fee. On the 9th May 2024, Alex Hurst was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Alex Hurst made 24 appearances, scoring 1 goal. In June 2024, Alex Hurst signed for Northern Premier League side Leek Town.

LUKE MARIETTE

On the 21st November 2023, Macclesfield FC announced the signing on central midfielder Luke Mariette on loan from League One side Blackpool until the end of the 2023/24 season. The former under 18 Welsh international, had made 2 appearances for Blackpool, as well as loans away from the club at Southport and Bamber Bridge before joining the Silkmen. Luke Mariette made his debut off the bench for Macclesfield FC on the same day as he signed, as the Silkmen beat Atherton Collieries 6.0. On the 26th January 2024, Luke Mariette was recalled by Blackpool from Macclesfield FC and subsequently was sent on loan to Guiseley until the end of the 2023/24 season. During his time at the Silkmen, Luke Mariette made 6 appearance, scoring 1 goal. In May 2024, Luke Mariette was released by Blackpool. On the 29th August 2024, Luke Mariette signed for Welsh side Flint Town.

SEB THOMPSON

On the 5th December 2023, it was announced that winger Seb Thompson had been registered for Macclesfield FC ahead of their Cheshire Senior Cup Second Round tie against Tranmere Rovers. Seb Thompson had been training with Macclesfield FC for a number of weeks before his registration. Seb Thompson began his career at Liverpool before leaving the club to join Derby County. After leaving Derby County, Seb Thompson joined Burnley, featuring regularly in their under 21 side before joining Macclesfield FC. On the 29th January 2024, it was announced that Seb Thompson had left Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Seb Thompson made 1 appearance. On the 23rd February 2024, Seb Thompson signed for National League side Kidderminster Harriers. On the 1st March 2025, Seb Thompson joined National League North side Rushall Olympic until the end of the 2024/25 season. On the 4th November 2025, Seb Thompson joined National League North side Leamington on loan until January 2026.


KAI MAJOR

On the 5th December 2023, Kai Major made his Macclesfield FC debut, coming off the bench for Macclesfield FC in their Cheshire Senior Cup Second Round tie against Tranmere Rovers. Ahead of the match it was announced that the squad for this match would be a mixture of Macclesfield FC first team, the International Academy, the Under 18 side and also players from the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy. Before making his first team debut, Kai Major was a regular for Macclesfield FC at youth levels.


SHAY WATT

After 2 goals for Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy under 19’s in their 3.0 win against Middlesbrough on the 17th January 2024, on his seventeenth birthday, Shay Watt was included on the bench for Macclesfield FC first team for their Northern Premier League match against Guiseley on the 27th January 2024. Before receiving his call up for the Macclesfield FC first team, Shay Watt was a regular for the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy under 19 side, making 12 appearances, scoring 4 goals.


HENRY MCNULTY

On the 30th January 2024, Henry McNulty made his Macclesfield FC debut off the bench in the Silkmen’s Cheshire Senior Cup Quarter Final tie against League Two side Crewe Alexandra. Crewe Alexandra went on to win the match 5.2. Ahead of the match it was announced that the squad for this match would be a mixture of Macclesfield FC first team, the International Academy, the Under 18 side and also players from the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy. On the 21st December 2024, it was announced that Henry McNulty had signed a dual registration deal with Macclesfield FC and 1874 Northwich.


JAMIE WALKER

On the 30th January 2024, Jamie Walker, part of the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy made his Macclesfield FC debut in the Silkmen’s Cheshire Senior Cup Quarter Final tie against League Two side Crewe Alexandra. Crewe Alexandra went on to win the match 5.2. Ahead of the match it was announced that the squad for this match would be a mixture of Macclesfield FC first team, the International Academy, the Under 18 side and also players from the Macclesfield FC BTEC Academy. In February 2025, Jamie Walker appeared for Alsager Town. In November 2025, Jamie Walker signed for Colne on a dual registration deal from Macclesfield FC.


BOHAN DIXON

On the 6th February 2024, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of experienced central midfielder Bohan Dixon for an undisclosed fee from National League North side Warrington Town. Bohan Dixon signed a deal at Macclesfield FC until the end of the 2024/25 season, after spending his previous 6 seasons at Warrington Town. During the 2022/23 season, Bohan Dixon was instrumental as Warrington Town earned promotion from the Northern Premier League up to the National League North. After playing for a number of Non League sides, Bohan Dixon, an experienced Non League veteran at the age of 34 (when signing for Macclesfield FC), had previously featured for 15 other Non League clubs: Kingsley United, Hednesford Town, Burscough, McGinty’s, Accrington Stanley, Marine, Lincoln City, Northwich Victoria, Salford City, Stalybridge Celtic, AFC Fylde, Halifax Town, Stockport County, Ashton United and Warrington Town. On the 9th May 2024, Bohan Dixon was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Bohan Dixon made 7 appearances. On the 22nd June 2024, Bohan Dixon re-signed for National League North side Warrington Town. In October 2025, Bohan Dixon was released by Warrington Town.


SAM PERRY

On the 8th February 2024, Macclesfield FC completed the signing of central midfielder Sam Perry from Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury FC. Sam Perry began his youth career at Aston Villa before beginning his professional career at Walsall. During his time at Walsall, Sam Perry made 32 appearances, scoring 2 goals as well as spending time on loan at both Yeovil Town and Leamington. In July 2023, Sam Perry left Walsall to sign for Irish Premier Division side Waterford. In December 2023, Perry returned to England to join Salisbury FC, spending 2 months at the club before joining Macclesfield FC. On the 9th May 2024, Sam Perry was released by Macclesfield FC. During his time at the Silkmen, Sam Perry made 14 appearances, scoring 1 goal. In July 2024, Sam Perry signed for Alvechurch.


JUSTIN JOHNSON

On the 24th May 2024, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Dutch winger Justin Johnson from National League North side Chorley. Johnson began his youth career at Sparta Rotterdam before joining Manchester United. Justin Johnson then moved to FC United of Manchester before signing for Dundee United. After a brief loan spell at York City, Johnson joined Cypriot side Othellos Athienou. In August 2020, Johnson returned to the United Kingdom, signing for Scottish side Hamilton Academical. After a brief spell at Scottish side Morton, Justin Johnson joined Stalybridge Celtic before joining Chorley. During the 2023/24 season, Justin Johnson was named in the National League North Team of the Season for Chorley.

ELLIOTT WHITEHOUSE

On the 27th May 2024, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of central midfielder Elliott Whitehouse after his departure from National League North side Chester. Elliott Whitehouse made 40 appearances for Chester during the 2023/24 season, scoring 9 goals before making the decision to drop down a division to join Macclesfield FC in the Northern Premier League. Whitehouse began his career at Sheffield United and spent a number of loan spells away from the club before signing permanently for Notts County. Whitehouse spent one season at Notts County before joining Halifax Town for a brief period before heading to Nuneaton Borough. Whitehouse impressed at Nuneaton, earning a move to Lincoln City before heading to Grimsby Town and then Forest Green Rovers. Before joining Chester in June 2023, Whitehouse spent a season at National League side Scunthorpe United. On the 17th February 2025, after 6 appearances for Macclesfield FC, it was announced that Elliott Whitehouse had joined fellow Northern Premier League side Matlock Town on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season. On the 19th August 2025, Elliott Whitehouse joined fellow National League North side Peterborough Sports on loan until the end of January 2026. At the time of this loan move Elliott Whitehouse had made 6 appearances for Macclesfield FC. On the 3rd February 2026, it was announced that Elliott Whitehouse’s loan at Peterborough Sports from Macclesfield FC had been extended until the end of the 2025/26 season.


DANNY WHITEHEAD

On the 31st May 2024, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of central midfielder Danny Whitehead after his departure from National League side AFC Fylde. Danny Whitehead, no stranger to the Silkmen fans, featured for Macclesfield Town on 5 separate occasions before re-signing for Macclesfield FC. Danny Whitehead began his career at Stockport County before earning a move to Premier League side West Ham United. After a short spell at Accrington Stanley, Danny Whitehead moved to Macclesfield Town before being signed by Wigan Athletic. Whitehead returned to Macclesfield Town on loan before heading to Cheltenham Town on loan, only to return back to the Silkmen on loan once again. After his release from Wigan Athletic, Danny Whitehead signed permanently for Macclesfield Town, excelling as the Silkmen were crowned Champions of the National League in the 2017/18 season. Ahead of the 2018/19 season Danny Whitehead joined Salford City before again returning to Macclesfield Town on loan during the 2019/20 season. After leaving Salford City, Danny Whitehead joined League Two side Port Vale before joining AFC Fylde in January 2022. Danny Whitehead featured 40 times for AFC Fylde during the 2023/24 season before joining Macclesfield FC ahead of their 2024/25 Northern Premier League campaign.


ALI HAYDER

On the 29th August 2024, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of winger Ali Hayder on a short term contract after his release from Championship side Stoke City at the end of the 2023/24 season. Ali Hayder spent his youth career at Stoke City and was a regular for their under 18 side. Hayder was released at the end of the 2023/24 season without making a first team appearance. Despite not featuring for the Stoke City first team, Ali Hayder is an Iraqi international, having made his international debut on 17th October 2023 for Iraq in a friendly match against Jordan. Despite no official announcement by Macclesfield FC, on the 9th September 2024, the Silkmen Substack reported that Ali Hayder had left the Silkmen. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Ali Hayder made 1 appearance. On the 18th October 2024, Ali Hayder signed for Nantwich Town. On the 11th February 2025, Ali Hayder joined Prestwich Heys on loan from Nantwich Town. On the 4th March 2025, Ali Hayder signed for Northwich Victoria on a dual registration deal with Nantwich Town. On the 30th July 2025, Ali Hayder signed for Iraqi side Al-Talaba SC.


JAMES EDMONDSON

On the 21st October 2024, Macclesfield FC completed the loan signing of eighteen year old central midfielder James Edmondson from Championship side Blackburn Rovers until the 20th November 2024. Highly rated by Blackburn Rovers, James Edmondson made his debut for Blackburn Rovers Under 21’s aged just 15 and before making the loan move to the Silkmen, was a regular the Blackburn Rovers Under 21 side. In August 2023, James Edmondson scored a goal on his professional debut for Blackburn Rovers in their 0.8 EFL Cup win against Harrogate Town. On the 26th October 2024, James Edmondson scored on his debut for Macclesfield FC as the Silkmen beat Ashton United 7.1. On the 21st November 2024, it was announced that after 2 goals in 5 appearances for Macclesfield FC that James Edmondson’s loan deal had been extended until the 8th January 2025. On the 8th January 2025, it was announced that James Edmondson had returned to Blackburn Rovers. During his time at Macclesfield FC, James Edmondson made 14 appearances, scoring 3 goals. On the 4th September 2025, James Edmondson returned to Macclesfield FC on loan from Championship club Blackburn Rovers, with the deal running until the end of January 2026. On the 2nd February 2026, it was announced that James Edmondson’s loan deal at Macclesfield FC from Blackburn Rovers had been extended until the end of the 2025/26 season. At the time of this loan extension, James Edmondson had made 27 appearances, scoring 1 goal. At this point overall, including his first loan spell at the club, James Edmondson had made 41 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 4 goals.


SEAN ETALUKU

On the 2nd November 2024, Macclesfield FC completed the signing of winger Sean Etaluku from League Two side AFC Barrow for an undisclosed fee. Sean Etaluku began his career at Burnley before joining Mossley in November 2022. After impressing for Mossley, ahead of the 2023/24 season, Sean Etaluku made the step up to the Football League signing for AFC Barrow after a successful trial period,. In March 2024, Etaluku signed for National League North side Buxton on loan. Before signing permanently for the Silkmen, Sean Etaluku had spent the beginning of the 2024/25 season at Northern Premier League rivals Matlock Town on loan before he was recalled by AFC Barrow and subsequently signed for Macclesfield FC the next day. On the 12th June 2025, Sean Etaluku was named the Northern Premier League Young Player Of The Year for the 2024/25 season. At the time of this award, Sean Etaluku had made 25 appearances for Macclesfield FC, scoring 3 goals. On the 12th October 2025, it was announced that Sean Etaluku had joined National League side Forest Green Rovers from Macclesfield FC. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Sean Etaluku made 37 appearances, scoring 5 goals.


SPENCER YATES

On the 5th November 2024, Spencer Yates was named on the bench for Macclesfield FC in their Cheshire Senior Cup Second Round tie against Northern Premier League West Division side Stalybridge Celtic. On the 15th July 2025, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of Regan Griffiths after his release from National League side Altrincham. Regan Griffiths began his career at Crewe Alexandra. During his time at Crewe Alexandra, Regan Griffiths also spent time out on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic, Witton Albion, Notts County and Boreham Wood before signing a permanent deal at Kidderminster Harriers. Ahead of the 2024/25 season, Regan Griffiths was released by Kidderminster Harriers and signed for National League North side Marine before joining Altrincham in January 2025 before his release at the end of the 2024/25 season.


CARLOS DOS SANTOS

On the 22nd July 2025, it was announced that central midfielder Carlos Dos Santos had signed a first team contract at Macclesfield FC. Carlos Dos Santos was previously part of the Macclesfield FC Academy and also the Macclesfield FC International Academy. Carlos Dos Santos progressed through the Macclesfield FC youth ranks, spending three years at the Macclesfield FC International Academy. During the 2024/25 season, Carlos Dos Santos spent time at Colne and also Newcastle Town before impressing Macclesfield FC manager John Rooney during the 2025/26 pre season and was rewarded with a first team contract at Macclesfield FC.


LUKE GRIFFITHS

On the 29th August 2025, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of central midfielder Luke Griffiths on a free transfer from fellow National League North side Curzon Ashton. Luke Griffiths began his career at Bolton Wanderers. After his release from Bolton Wanderers, Luke Griffiths dropped into Non League football appearing for Runcorn Linnets, Marine and Prescot Cables before joining FC United of Manchester. Before leaving FC United of Manchester to join Curzon Ashton, Luke Griffiths also spent time on loan at Warrington Town. Luke Griffiths was a regular for Curzon Ashton during the 2024/25 season and ahead of the 2025/26 season signed a new deal at Curzon Ashton. On the 25th October 2025, Luke Griffiths joined fellow National League North side Southport on a free transfer from Macclesfield FC. During his time at Macclesfield FC, Luke Griffiths made 3 appearances.


JOSH KAY

On the 4th September 2025, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of midfielder Josh Kay on a loan deal until the end of the 2025/26 season from League Two side Oldham Athletic. Josh Kay began his career at AFC Fylde before earning a move to Championship side Barnsley. After loan spells at AFC Fylde and Tranmere Rovers, Josh Kay signed for Chesterfield on a permanent deal. After his release from Chesterfield, Josh Kay went on to spend five seasons at Barrow before re-joining AFC Fylde on a permanent deal. At the start of the 2024/25 season, Josh Kay signed for Oldham Athletic, who went on to win promotion to the Football League that campaign.

Mikey Stone began his career at Stoke City before joining Huddersfield Town. Mikey Stone broke through the ranks at Huddersfield Town and spent time out on loan at Liversedge. At the beginning of the 2025/26 season, Mikey Stone signed for Scottish League One side Hamilton Academical before joining Altrincham in December 2025. On the 6th January 2026, it was announced that Mikey Stone had been released by Altrincham, going on to sign for Macclesfield FC on the same day as this announcement.


ELLIOT OSBORNE

On the 12th January 2026, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of central midfielder Elliot Osborne after his departure from National League side Altrincham. Elliot Osborne began his career at Port Vale before dropping into Non League football with Newcastle Town and Nantwich Town. After impressing for Nantwich Town, Elliot Osborne moved to Fleetwood Town, spending time on loan at Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County and Morecambe before signing a permanent deal at Southport. After another successful loan spell at Stockport County, Osborne signed permanently at Stockport County before making the step up to League Two side Stevenage. Elliot Osborne spent 2 seasons at Stevenage before joining Altrincham, spending 4 seasons at the club before being released on the 9th January 2026 ahead of signing for Macclesfield FC.


LIAM ANDERSON

THEO CHAPMAN

On the 17th March 2026, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of midfielder Theo Chapman after his departure from fellow National League North side Scarborough Athletic. Theo Chapman began his career at League One side Barnsley and spent time out on loan at then National League North side Farsley Celtic during the 2023/24 season before his release from Barnsley at the end of the 2024/25 season. In September 2025, Theo Chapman signed for National League North side Scarborough Athletic before leaving by mutual consent on the 16th March 2026. One day after his departure from Scarborough Athletic, Theo Chapman signed for Macclesfield FC.


HARRY MCHUGH

On the 27th March 2026, Macclesfield FC announced the signing of versatile midfielder Harry McHugh from League One side Wigan Athletic on a free transfer. After moving from Premier League side Everton as a youngster, Harry McHugh progressed through the youth ranks at Wigan Athletic, earning himself a first team contract before spending time out on loan at National League North side Chester and Scottish Championship side Ayr United. During his time at Wigan Athletic, Harry McHugh made 33 appearances, scoring 2 goals before joining Macclesfield FC on a permanent deal.
